Jari was born in the beautiful city of Prague. He played soccer and studied Electrical Engineering - his talent in ballroom dancing was discovered by accident, then and there he found his passion. Within years, he became one of the most promising young dancers in his country. He has trained under Michael and Vicky Barr, Ann Gleave, Karen and Markus Hilton, John Wood, Gianni D'Orio, Andrew Sinkinson and other world-renowned coaches.
Jari came to the United States in 1993, to pursue a professional dancing and teaching career. From 1993 through 1995, he taught at a Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Connecticut. From 1996 he worked as an independent instructor in New York City and in 1997, became a co-owner of the very successful studio "Ballroom on Fifth" in Manhattan.
Jari moved to Atlanta in 2002 to teach International Standard and American Smooth. He is an independent instructor primarily teaches at Academy Ballroom studio in Buckhead but is also available at various other dance studios in metro-Atlanta.
Jari has over 20 years' experience in ballroom dancing, as an amateur competitor, a professional competitor and a professional trainer. He has won numerous titles in USA, Europe and Canada with his former partners. He and his partners were named 1999 US National Professional Rising Star Top Couple of the Year for International Standard and 2000 US National Rising Star Champion. Jari also has four National Pro/Am Champion titles with his student partners. Most recently, he and his student partner were crowned champion on the 2009 USDC Open Pro/Am Rising Star International Standard Competition.
